Together, let us be
champions for the land
and people’s hearts.
At present, Jose and Lizzie are facing a dire financial emergency. This stems from the originating bank loan structure and not from Farm operations or their stewardship. The very existence of the farm hangs in the balance. They are in an extreme financial crisis and presently the farm is facing foreclosure within the next 30 days. This set of circumstances has compelled us to reach out to you and together seek a solution, which will preserve the farm, and provide a unique and attractive investment. Therefore we are inviting people who are willing to be a part of the solution to share in the ownership of the farm. We are appealing for champions to support those working for what we all believe in, so they are not alone in this work and will not have their light extinguished by the system they are trying to inspire change within.
Fundo Panguilemu in Patagonia, Chile, is a breathtaking farm bordering the shores of the Rio Simpson and is an ideal place for every form of life. The streams and rivers run abundant clear water, full of fish and life. Biodiversity, at all levels, continually increases. The land captures tons of carbon, a remedy for climate change. The forests and pastures are astonishingly healthy. Animals live productive, healthy and happy stress-free lives. The people who live and work at the farm, inspire, educate and give back to the land and community.
Jose and Lizzie Gortazar, a husband and wife team, purchased Fundo Panguilemu in 2013. They transitioned their 2,629 acre farm from a desertified state in Patagonia to a rich, diverse and vibrant ecosystem through holistic cattle and sheep grazing practices. They raise their animals for meat and wool with consciousness and kindness. They have free-roaming chickens that help with the entire system and produce an incredible amount of eggs. They have organic greenhouse gardens and have created a "farm-to-fork" movement in their nearest city of Coyhaique. They've built several yurts to support conscious tourism with yoga, farm-fresh meals and unique agri-business tourism experiences such as horse riding, hiking, farm tours, etc. They are also hosting workshops to teach new ways of doing business through holistic management practices and regenerative agriculture.
Earlier this year, Jose and Lizzie hosted guests from all over the world as part of a Savory Journey, an educational collaboration the Fundo has with The Savory Institute. Their future vision also includes an EcoCommunity project as well as a Wellness Institute. They've designed a business model that has a wide variety of revenue streams that are aligned with their ultimate vision and values of having a positive impact on this planet.
How can I help?
The best way to support Jose and Lizzie and save Fundo Panguilemu is to become a charter investor. As a charter investor you are helping us reach our goal of 2 million dollars. This will not only pay off the mortgage on the farm property, but also support a long-term plan for growth of the farm and have your investment be supported by a great business model and a secure asset. And thanks to your involvement, we will issue each investor shares in the Patagonia EcoFarms Holding Company, which will hold title to the land. This investment will give you a portion of ownership in the Holding Company that owns the land and a 10% credit toward ownership of a lot.
YOUR INVESTMENT = percentage OF OWNERSHIP IN HOLDING COMPANY + 10% LOT CREDIT
$500,000 = 17% OWNERSHIP + $50,000 LOT CREDIT
$250,000 = 8% OWNERSHIP + $25,000 LOT CREDIT
$100,000 = 3% OWNERSHIP + $10,000 LOT CREDIT
Investment Highlights:
1,064 hectares (2,629 acres) last assessed at approximately US$3,000,000 in 2014.
Significant improvements to the land through Jose’s holistic management practices and infrastructure plus increased land values are not reflected in the 2014 evaluation.
Well-designed and resilient production model and secured assets.
The structure, as of this moment, is that Jose and Lizzie will retain a 32% ownership of the farm and the investors the remaining percentage. A simple majority of the shareholders will approve all strategic and long terms decisions concerning the farm. Operations will remain in the capable hands of Jose and Lizzie.
Dividends or profits will either be paid out or allocated towards property improvements at the discretion of the Board of Investors.
The Principle Drivers of Future Investment Returns will be:
Highly profitable Regenerative and Holistic Management Production Model
Cattle and Sheep grazing, wool business
Free range chickens and egg business
EcoTourism – glamping, trekking, farm tours
Energy production
Lot sales
